quiet in the city

about

i am a person living/schooling in montrĂ©al, canada. i’m in my early-to-mid twenties and was born on the west coast of “canada.” what else? i’m fat, which is not really a secret in real life and really should not be on the internets, either. i’m queer, white, and cisgendered. i believe in social justice, in solidarity, in anti-oppressive and anti-colonial work. i try to check my privilege but like all privileged people, sometimes i fail. i am one of those people who has an anxiety disorder, which manifests as crippling social anxiety. like many other fat people, i’ve got body issues. i reveal all this information because a) i believe in being accountable and b) what i write here frequently touches on these things.

a note on comments: all comments come to my e-mail to be approved. if you are using oppressive language, your comment will not be published.

i ask that, if you know me in real life, you respect me and do the following: let me know you’re reading this (it doesn’t mean you have to stop reading, but i’d like to know if you are) and respect my anonymity when posting comments (ie. don’t use my real name, personal signifiers, etc.) if you do use my real name, i reserve the right to remove it or replace it with my pseudonym.

I tend to not capitalize in my blog- this is an aesthetic choice.

You can e-mail me at quietinthecity@gmail.com.
